Warhammer Community continues to tease with content. Today, we have a host of Mission Previews. They show setup maps, mission objectives, and unique actions.
Given the small board sizes, these missions place objectives on top of one another. Holding them will be difficult in the face of concentrated shooting and lethal melee.
Awaken the Data-Spirits
Pay close attention to the objectives in this one. To score maximum points for the Uplinks, you’ll need deactivate Firewall objectives. However, half of the Firewalls are closer to the enemy than to you. While success depends on seizing Firewalls and holding Uplinks, you’ll want to not deactivate Firewalls connected to Uplinks your opponent is driving towards.
Secure Archeotech
In Secure Archeotech, your goal is to pry free ancient tech pieces and carry them to safety. One objective is within easy reach of each player, but the other four stretch across the centerline. Not only will you need to get there quickly, you’ll need to keep them till the end of the game to maximize your score. Going to see more than a few operatives choosing Conceal orders in this mission.
Escalating Hostilities
Sure, there are two objectives close to each drop zone and two center ones to fight over, how hard can this be? Well, you’ll only be scoring those close objectives for the first few turns. After that they fade away, the center objectives become the only ones left. Success in this mission means either seizing the center and holding it or taking the fight to into the teeth of your enemy! You’ll need tough or evasive operatives whichever method you choose.
Wrapping It Up
Once again Games Workshop is pushing us towards close, sharp firefights topped off with a bloody melee event in the center of the board. These mission previews, and others like them in Kill Team: Octarius, promise close-run games with little room for errors. Good luck in the Kill Zone!
